Shelly security: door and window sensors, smoke alarm and gas detector
A smart opening sensor alerts your phone when a door or window opens and can switch on lights or turn off the heating. Q-Tech brings together Shelly's security devices here: two door and window sensors, a smoke alarm and a gas detector, all with alerts in the Shelly Smart Control app. It is part of Shelly Control.

How to choose
- Doors and windows: the Mini ZB for indoors and narrow frames; the Outdoor ZB for exposed locations. Both need a gateway: the Shelly BLU Gateway Gen3 or a Shelly Pro relay.
- Smoke: the Plus Smoke Alarm goes on the ceiling and connects over Wi-Fi, with no gateway. It does not detect carbon monoxide.
- Gas: choose the version for the gas in your home, LPG (bottle or tank) or mains natural gas. It plugs into a socket, so it needs one at the right height.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a gateway?
For the BLU door and window sensors, yes: the BLU Gateway Gen3 or a Shelly Pro relay. The smoke alarm and the gas detector use Wi-Fi and do not need one.
Do they detect carbon monoxide?
No. Shelly has no carbon monoxide detector. For smoke and carbon monoxide, see the UniFi SuperLink smoke and CO alarm, which needs a UniFi SuperLink gateway.
Shelly or UniFi SuperLink?
Shelly integrates with the rest of your Shelly home automation and with Home Assistant. UniFi SuperLink is an alarm system with its own gateway, for UniFi installations.
