The Nest Mount is an optional thermostat accessory sold separately. It allows you to place the Nest thermostat on a shelf, table or desk, although you will still need to place it in a place where it can connect wirelessly to the Heat Link.
The Nest thermostat is designed to stay in one place, so you need to think carefully about where you want to place it. It should be located in a location where it can communicate wirelessly with the Heat Link (within a maximum distance of 30 m). The construction and layout of your home will affect the range of communications.
Where to install the Nest stand
- The Nest stand must be placed near a power outlet as it needs to be plugged in.
- Place the thermostat in a room you use frequently. For features like Home/Away Assistant to work well, make sure you have good visibility into the room.
- Nest thermostat features, such as Far View, work best when the Nest Stand is placed approximately 1 meter off the ground.
- The thermostat measures the temperature of your house to decide when to turn on the heating. Do not place the thermostat in hot or cold areas, such as fireplaces or drafty windows, to prevent the house from overheating or underheating.
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi network signal reaches the place where you place the thermostat. Do not install it near other electronic devices or appliances that may interfere with the connection.
- After choosing where to place the Nest stand, install the thermostat. Make sure you choose a good place. To do this, check that the connection to the Wi-Fi network and Heat Link is good.
