Water chamber, patented controlled action design: The efficient and economical Challenger™ tanks are designed with the new patented CAD-2 (Controlled Action Diaphragm) diaphragm technology. It incorporates a 100% chlorine-resistant butyl membrane with a precision-molded copolymer polypropylene liner for excellent air/water separation. The CAD-2 membrane is assembled with an internal retaining ring, so that downflowing water is trapped within an air-charged atmosphere, providing separation between the membrane and the tank wall, sealing the water in a completely corrosion-resistant chamber. This "air cushion" design means fewer problems with condensation. Constructed with a high grade of FDA-approved butyl, the membrane separates water in a corrosion-resistant chamber.
On the exterior, the polyurethane paint finish over an almond-colored epoxy base offers hundreds of hours of protection against UV rays and protection in saline environments. The air chamber is sealed by a fixed O-ring, ensuring leak-free and maintenance-free operation for many years.
