Water chamber, patented controlled action design: The efficient and economical Challenger™ tanks are designed with the new, patented CAD-2 diaphragm technology (Controlled Action Diaphragm). It incorporates a 100% chlorine-resistant butyl membrane with a precision-molded copolymer polypropylene liner for excellent air and water separation. The CAD-2 membrane is assembled using an internal retaining ring, so the incoming water remains within a pre-charged air atmosphere, providing a gap between the membrane and the tank wall and sealing the water in a completely corrosion-resistant chamber. This "air cushion" design means fewer condensation problems. Constructed with a high-grade, FDA-approved butyl, the membrane separates the water in a corrosion-resistant chamber.
On the exterior, the polyurethane paint finish over an almond-colored epoxy base offers hundreds of hours of protection against UV and saline protection. The air chamber is sealed with a fixed O-ring, ensuring leak-free, maintenance-free operation for many years.
