Determine the differential pressure in the heating system, with maximum load, and adjust this value on the regulating valve. When the flow rate decreases, the valve opens so that the pump's retention height is balanced, within a proportional band.
The flow rate of the circulation pump varies according to the load in the heating circuit. Following the characteristic curves of the pumps, it can be seen that when the flow rate decreases, the retention height increases. This produces a reduction in the pressure loss in the pipes, which is why overloads and noise can occur in some elements of the system.
The Watts USVR differential pressure regulating valve prevents increases in the retention height and ensures a constant flow rate. When used in heating systems with a gas boiler, a minimum amount of circulating water is ensured, so that the boiler works correctly. It is especially recommended when the pump curve has a steep slope or the maximum retention height is much higher than the opening pressure.
The Watts USVR differential pressure regulating valve It comes preset at the factory with an opening pressure of 200 mbar (2 mca).
In most cases this value is adequate. If you want to change it, you have to loosen the locking screw. After this, the opening pressure can be changed continuously between 50 and 500 mbar.
The selected value will be placed on the scale, no adjustment diagrams are required. Finally, the locking screw is tightened again as a safety measure.
