Determine the differential pressure in the heating system at maximum load and adjust this value on the regulating valve. When the flow rate decreases, the valve opens so that the pump's holding head is balanced within a proportional range.
The circulation pump's flow rate varies depending on the load in the heating circuit. Following the pump characteristic curves, it can be seen that as the flow rate decreases, the holding height increases. This reduces pressure loss in the pipes, which can lead to overloads and noise in some system components.
The Watts USVR differential pressure regulating valve prevents the holding head from rising and ensures a constant flow rate. When used in heating systems with gas boilers, it ensures a minimum amount of circulating water for proper boiler operation. It is especially recommended when the pump curve is steep or the maximum holding head is much higher than the opening pressure.

In most cases, this value is adequate. If you want to change it, loosen the locking screw. Once this is done, the opening pressure can be continuously adjusted between 50 and 500 mbar.
