Etymologically, hydrolysis means decomposition by water. Hydrolysis is a process for generating hydrogen and oxygen using electricity and water.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen an electric current passes through water, the chemical bond is broken; the negative charges or oxygen ions migrate to the positive electrode (anode). The positively charged hydrogen ions are attracted to the negative electrode (cathode). The resulting decomposition is as follows:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eElectrical energy + 2 H2O --\u0026gt; 2 H2 + O2\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis results in an extra negative element, since the number of electrons in the combination exceeds the number of protons by 1. It is now a single negatively charged hydroxide, or a hydroxyl ion (OH-).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn HYDROLYSIS, there are numerous secondary chemical reactions that also produce ionic species with oxidizing and disinfecting power, such as ozone (O3), monoatomic oxygen (O1), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe electronic circuit in our control box transforms the current (220 V, 50 Hz) into low-voltage, high-amperage direct current. This current is supplied to titanium electrodes activated with noble metals, placed in the water recirculation line in a support specially designed for this purpose.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf we add a very small amount of salt to this treatment (between 1 and 2g of salt per liter of water), either due to a lack of conductivity or because we want to generate a tangible residual, the same system will also generate a chlorine residual through low-concentration saline electrolysis. The products decompose, act, and regenerate again. The residual disinfectant generated by electrolysis does not harm the eyes, skin, or health of the swimmer. We need not worry about running out of salt in the water, as the system would continue to disinfect in HYDROLYSIS mode.
